In 2016, the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby Committee began the LDB ICE Student Bursary Program. Since its inception, the Committee has awarded $16,000 to 16 deserving students pursuing post-secondary education.

LDB ICE STUDENT BURSARIES

The purpose of this bursary is to provide Financial Aid to a deserving student enrolled in continued education where the field of study will have possible relevance or benefit to the Lac du Bonnet Region. Each year the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby Committee will give up to two Bursaries of up to one thousand ($1000.00) each to a deserving student based on relevance, need, and the availability of funds from the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby.

BURSARY CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES

The Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby Bursary program supports Lac du Bonnet and area students entering post-secondary studies and:

  • Should focus on a field of study which will provide education and training which has need and relevance in Lac du Bonnet.

  • The student applicant should have a level of academic achievement such that they will have a reasonable chance of success in their chosen field of study.

Applications from part-time students, students continuing their post-secondary education past the first year, and applications for special courses will be also be considered. Nevertheless, what a day it was at the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby! A heartfelt thank you goes out to each and every one of you who made this event a resounding success. Your enthusiasm and participation truly made the day memorable.
